Wondering if I’ve gone berserk? talking of Brussels sprouts and maple syrup of all?? I detest eating Brussels sprouts! It sucks to eat it raw but the flip side is that it is a repository of nutrition! My friend Uma had invited us for a reunion dinner at her place a few weeks ago! and This was the hors de’ovuere of the day! 🙂 At first I thought it was egg plant, then when she told me they are Brussels sprouts I was stunned outta my senses! astonished by the fact that even Brussels sprouts could taste so divine, I thought I must try and share it with you all! The neatly caramalized maple syrup along with a hint of green chilli spiced with a dash of red chilli flakes was an ambrosia by itself! It is a true blue weight-watcher and you can definitely indulge yourself in it without an iota of guilt! and this is like the easiest starter you could make within minutes!

2.Cut the cauliflower and boil them in a sauce pan with water and salt until its slightly tender, say until you prick a fork and it goes in slightly ( this is done to get rid of the germs and dirt in it)
P S – Sorry I forgot to click pics of this step! come one you don’t need a picture tutorial for it 😛 🙂
3. In a bowl mix oil, green chilli, red chilli flakes, salt and maple syrup.
4. Just toss the brussels sprouts and cauliflower in the mixture and place it on a tray lined with parchment paper of alumunium foil and top it with a few onion slices. Bake for 10- 15 minutes or until the brussels sprouts and cauliflower turn tender and change colour to slightly dark brown- green.
5. Enjoy while it’s hot.
- You could substitute maple syrup with honey, but i’m not sure how it tastes ( If you try it, let me know 😉 )
- You could also use the stove top if you don’t have an oven. Just make sure you do it in medium flame.
